Import your customers and products

Bring your companies, products, and past orders into Brine straight from Fortnox.

Brine reads every incoming order against your records — matching each line to the right product and the order to the right company. The fastest way to fill those records is to import them straight from Fortnox, so your existing customers, products, and order history come over as-is. No spreadsheets, no retyping. And they don't go stale — Brine keeps each record linked to Fortnox and in sync both ways.

Before you start

You need Fortnox connected first. If you haven't done that yet, see Connecting Fortnox — it takes about two minutes.

Import from Fortnox

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations and open your connected Fortnox integration with View.
  2. In the Import section, click Import.
  3. In Import from Fortnox, choose what to bring over, then click Continue:
    • Customers — every company, with their contact people and addresses.
    • Products — every product and its details.
    • Orders — past orders, by date range.
  4. Brine reads your Fortnox records and shows a preview, split into New and Existing.
  5. Pick the records to import, then click Import.

New records are selected for you. Existing ones are left unticked — ticking one replaces it with Fortnox's version, so you only overwrite when you mean to. Even large lists stay fully selectable, so you can bring everything in one pass.

You can run the import again any time.

Importing past orders

When you choose Orders, you bring over your history by date range. Pick a preset — This year, Last 90 days, or All time — or set your own Ordered from and Ordered to dates. You can also filter by sent Status and choose whether to Include canceled.

The preview shows up to 500 orders at a time. If you have more, tighten the range and import the rest in a second pass.

What gets matched

  • Products are matched on their article number (SKU). Brine uses the same SKU to match line items on incoming orders, so a clean catalog means cleaner orders.
  • Customers are matched on their customer number, which maps directly to Fortnox.

When you re-import products, Brine refreshes the fields it pulls from Fortnox — like name, description, and manufacturer — and leaves your Brine-only details untouched, including prices, packaging, images, tags, brand, and category.

Linked and kept up to date

Importing isn't a one-time copy. Brine links each record to its match in Fortnox and keeps the two in step for you — both ways. Change a customer's details or a product's name in Fortnox, and Brine picks up the change. Edit it in Brine, and the change is sent back to Fortnox. Work in whichever tool suits the moment; both stay up to date, so you never have to export, re-import, or wonder which version is right.

After importing

Your imported records show up under Customers, Products, and Orders, where you can review and edit them. From here, when a company sends an order, Brine matches it against these records — the right contact, address, and products — and flags anything it isn't sure about before you approve.
